Monday, June 3, was a day of celebration in Reynalton village. It all started at 9 am with a tabletop sale, which was very well supported despite the inclement weather.

The weather cleared up about 11 am and the rest of the day was fine.

The next event was the children's party, which started at 5 pm. The parents had worked very hard to provide a buffet and organise the events and various competitions. Everyone enjoyed the games, which included musical chairs, musical statues and limbo dancing.

The competition entries were superb and the judges, Wendy Paine and Tony Marmara, had an extremely difficult task in choosing the winners in each category.

The adult celebrations started at 7.30 pm and continued until after midnight. The buffet table was groaning under the weight of all the delicious food and drink items that everyone had brought.

Some of the faithful residents made the evening more special by entering a fancy dress competition. All were excellent and it certainly looked as if a number of celebrities had descended on Reynalton.

Next was the Grand Draw with excellent prizes and everyone was then entertained with live music and a sermon from the Rev. Caradoc Evans and later a number of reflections on village upbringings from his friend Arnold (alias Mr. Dennis Reed).

There was even a surprise visit from HRH Prince Charles (alias Mr. Graham Hughes) who gave a very witty dialogue on Royal sporting events.

The music was provided by two of Reynalton's highly talented youngsters playing their guitars with beautiful singing. Their dad also joined in with one of the guitar items.

There was also an accordionist to provide background music and to accompany the later singing of the National Anthem when everyone toasted the Queen.
