Meetings will take place soon for people involved in or interested in organising festivals and events.

Working groups have been formed as a result of PLANED's Plugging the Leaks workshops in two different areas.

Participants in both of the areas identified the promotion of well organised festivals and events as an opportunity to keep money circulating in the local economy.

The first of the meetings is for the South East area which encompasses the town and community council areas of Manorbier, Penally, Tenby, St. Mary Out Liberty and Saundersfoot.

It takes place at St Bride's Hotel, Saundersfoot on Thursday, October 9 from 7 pm to approximately 9 pm.

The group will begin mapping out an annual calendar of events in the area and agreeing a forward work schedule.

Projects proposed by community members include developing new ideas, strategic planning, sharing best practice and joint promotion.

The second meeting is for people living or working in Kilgetty, Begelly, Amroth, Jeffreyston, Carew and East Williamston.

It will take place at the Rabbit Hole Cafe at Stepaside Heritage Park on Monday, October 13 from 7 pm to approximately 9 pm.

The meeting will focus on proposing and discussing various projects for the area. As well as festivals and events, this group will also look at the development of heritage projects.
