Town councillors are hoping to set up a meeting between residents of Tenby's Serpentine Road, along with representatives from the Local Education Authority and Pembrokeshire County Council, to try and come up with ways of alleviating parking and traffic problems in the area.
The headteachers of the three schools in Heywood Lane are also expected to be invited to attend the meeting, which it is hoped will finalise a solution to the problems experienced along the busy route.
At a meeting of the town council on Tuesday night, a petition was also brought before councillors signed by a vast majority of residents of St. Davids Close, asking for restrictions to be placed on the chaotic parking that occurs nearby during school closing time.
"It's very important that the residents of the area are consulted and their opinions taken on board," said Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas.
Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, said that the town council could not speak for other authorities, such as the county council and those behind the Safe Routes in the Community scheme, on what had already been discussed, so it would be wise for all to get together around the table to see where everything was at.
