This year, eight individuals and two organisations were presented with certificates acknowledging their contribution and hard work.
Clr. Waters said: “On behalf of the residents of Pembroke, I would like to offer my appreciation of the hard work and dedication of the award winners. During my time as Mayor, I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet with a wide variety of organisations, all with the same aim of supporting people, young and old. Pembroke would be a much poorer place without them all. Congratulations to you all.”
Since 2009, there has been an additional award donated by Mrs. Jenny Whyte in memory of her late husband, Clr. Hamish Whyte, who was a highly-respected member of Pembroke Town Council. Mrs. Whyte presented the prestigious award to Clr. Clive Collins in recognition of his help towards Christmas arrangements in the town for the past 40 years.
Those attending also had the privilege of watching a presentation from the Corps of Drums of the Welsh Guards, who also received an award.
Those who won the awards were: Mr. Eric Robinson - long-term service to the Pembroke Community Award; Mr. Dominic Day - certificate of commendation; Mr. Lyn Neville - certificate of commendation; museum volunteers - certificate of commendation; The Welsh Guards - certificate of commendation; Mr. John Williams - certificate of commendation; Sandy and Peter Williams - certificate of commendation; Chris and Des Vater - certificate of commendation; Mrs. Monica Vanner - certificate of commendation; Mrs. Auriol Scourfield - certificate of commendation; Mr Clive Collins - Hamish Whyte Award.
