St. Marcellus Church, Martletwy, was the picturesque setting for the marriage on Saturday of Mr. Mark Ogden and Miss Louisa Jayne Nicholas.
The groom, a senior design engineer, is the younger son of Norman and Brenda Ogden, of 180 Green Lane, Bolton, Lancashire, while the bride, a radiographer specialising in ultra sound, is the only daughter of Brian and Suzanne Nicholas, of Bramble Lodge, Stepaside.
Given away by her father, the bride looked attractive in a hand loom champagne dupion silk gown. Designed by the bride, its bodice was embroidered with seed pearls, as was the edge of the cathedral length train. Her full length pure silk veil was held in place by a gold tiara and she carried a shower spray bouquet of ivory cream lilies, lilac freesia, cream orchids, cream roses, lisianthus and trailing ivy.
Bridesmaids were Ellen Brayshaw and Claire Bowyer (bride's friends), who wore grape coloured bodices and fishtail skirts with matching bolero jackets.
Wearing cream bodices, tulle net skirts and complementing grape sashes, the flower girls were Lauren Smith and Megan Evans (cousins), while the page boys, Billy Ogden (nephew) and Morgan Evans (cousin), looked very smart in navy morning suits with lilac waistcoats and cravats
Best men were Gary Ogden (brother) and Philip Wilding (friend), while the ushers were Julian Nicholas (bride's brother), Iwan Evans (bride's uncle), Gary Armstrong and Martin Smith (groom's friends).
The service was conducted by Rev. Sylvia Temple and the organist was the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Elfreda Nicholas.
A reception followed at The Giltar Hotel, Tenby, where the couple cut a magnificent three-tier wedding cake made by the bride's mother and decorated by Miss Lisa Phillips.
An evening reception also followed at the Giltar, followed by a superb firework display.
As her going away outfit, the bride chose an off white long designer dress and coat which featured slits in both the coat and dress.
Following a honeymoon in New England, USA, the couple will make their home in Wokingham, Berkshire.
