When the producers of the film 'The Edge Of Love' descended on Tenby looking for a suitable property to recreate a 1940s style London Georgian house, they discovered the perfect place at Lexden Terrace in St. Julian Street. As reported in our last issue, shooting for the film, which features Welsh actor Matthew Rhys in the lead role as poet Dylan Thomas, along with Hollywood stars, Keira Knightley, Sienna Miller and Cillian Murphy, created a lot of interest in the town last week The story revolves around a reputed love triangle involving poet Thomas, his wife Caitlin and the curious real-life incident in which childhood friend Vera Phillips and her eventual husband William Killick opened fire on the Thomas home with a machine gun and a hand grenade. Local resident, Marion Hutton, whose house was used by the film makers, is so happy with the changes the production team made to her home that she may well stick with the new refurbishment! "I think the film makers were impressed with the architecture of the town and needed a Georgian style house for some scenes. "Effectively my place has been turned into a 1940s London property, so they have had to block out any views of the sea," explained Marion. However, the film's producer, Rebekah Gilbertson, said that the view from the back of Lexden Terrace overlooking the sea and both Castle and South Beaches was so stunning that they used it for a honeymoon scene. The film, which is due for release next year, has been shooting across Wales in the likes of Lampeter, Laugharne and New Quay.
