The Field Studies Council is inviting members of the public to join them at the sixth Dale Fort Marine Symposium on Saturday.

This will be an interesting day for anyone interested in marine and coastal issues in the UK.

“We have a wide variety of speakers, including Prof Tim Birkhead, of Sheffield University, who will be making a presentation about his long term guillemot research on Skomer Island,” said a spokesperson. “There will also be a Bioblitz, making use of an excellent low tide to record as many species as possible on a local shore in the company of experts.”

Advance booking is essential and tickets for the day cost £15, which includes refreshments and lunch. Due to increased demand, this year’s symposium will be held in the Village Hall at Dale, with lunch at Dale Fort.
