Norman Edwards (pictured), director of The Old King's Arms Hotel, Pembroke, has been training hard with the Llanion Warriors Rowing Club to compete in The Athens Classic Marathon on November 11, in aid of the RNLI.

The family of The Old King's Arms proprietor Shirley Wheeler, vice-president of Pembroke Ladies Lifeboat Guild, are competing too. Mark Wheeler and Louis Scott, like Shirley and Norman, are huge supporters of the charity.

In the past, Norman has completed two half-marathons in Bath and Achill Island in aid of the RNLI and the London Marathon for the charity Whizzkids.
