A raffle, organised to help boost the fund-raising efforts of a local woman who is running this Sunday's London Marathon, has raised over £1,000 for her charity, Macmillan Cancer Relief As well as collecting sponsorship for the 26.2 mile challenge, Donna Longhurst, of Templeton, has run the raffle in conjunction with the family business, K. P. Thomas and Son, and raised £1,163. Father Paul Davies, of Jeffreyston, made the draw on Wednesday morning and the lucky winner of 100 gallons of heating oil was Mrs. Kath Breen, of Hillside, Begelly. Donna, who has dedicated the miles along the route to family and friends who have suffered from cancer, hopes to raise around £4,000 in total.
