Unfortunately, a thick mist obscured the coastal scenery around Manorbier on Saturday but, nevertheless, 20 members of the Steps2Health group still enjoyed a sociable walk (writes B.S).
Half the members of the group went with walks leaders Erica, Janice and Margaret on a shorter, but very interesting route that took in the ancient and now recently restored medieval dovecote. After going inside to inspect this awesome building, they continued on past the caravan site to tread carefully along a somewhat muddy woodland path that brought them back to the castle and welcome refreshments at Beach Break Café.
Led by Brian, who was celebrating his birthday, and backed up by Val, those opting for the longer route, crossed the mist shrouded beach in an easterly direction to access the coast path leading up to the Kings Quoit. Turning left, they took the path leading up to the ancient parish church and then followed the route taken by Erica's group, before joining them about half-an-hour later in the café.
Tomorrow (Saturday) meet 10.30 am rear of Park Road bus shelter for a local walk.
It is hoped everyone will support the Steps2Health own coffee morning on Saturday, October 5, in Church House.
It would be great to welcome old friends to join us who have not, for various reasons, joined us for the walks recently.
It would also be appreciated if other community groups will also come along and help us raise funds to help with our running costs. We look forward to seeing you!
