A man is recovering in hospital this week after suffering serious injuries in a cliff fall.
The man, who is in his late 50s, was injured when he fell between 30 and 40 feet down the cliff at Crackwell Street, Tenby last Thursday evening.
The alarm was raised at approximately 7.30 pm when the man, who is from Tenby, was found lying behind the Sea Cadet building on the Harbour.
His cries for help had been heard by cadets Cassie Allen, Jessica Ryder and Emily Griffiths.
Police attended and a joint rescue operation involving ambulance paramedics, the fire brigade, coastguards and staff of TS Harrier was commenced to evacuate the man to hospital.
The man, who has not been named, was placed on a stretcher and lifted to the top of the cliff from where he was taken to Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest for treatment by an awaiting ambulance.
His condition was described as 'stable' by a police spokesman on Monday.
"It was a difficult rescue operation because of the injured man's multiple fractures and needed the input of all the emergency services," explained the spokesman.
"He really is lucky to be alive when you take into consideration his bad injuries, the fact that he was suffering from shock and the cold night."
