A 32-year-old Ammanford man, on a day trip to Tenby with family and friends, injured his back on Saturday while assisting his children to dig a hole in the sand. Ambulance control tasked a fast response vehicle to assess the situation and it was concluded that an ambulance and coastguard support would be required. MRSC Milford Haven coastguard tasked the Tenby coastguard rescue team (CRT) to assist the ambulance crew to evacuate the man from Tenby South Beach. He was placed on a spinal board and lifted into the coastguard carry-out stretcher and conveyed to the ambulance, before being taken to Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest.
