St. Govans Coast Rescue Team, the South Pembs. sector manager and local ambulance paramedics assisted a 67-year-old man who fell from his vessel at Pembroke Ferry shortly after 4 pm on Saturday.
Having spent 25-30 minutes in the water, he was assisted ashore by locals who had been alerted to his plight by a 10-year-old boy and his father.
He was treated by paramedics on scene for hypothermia.
The gentleman, who had been trying to fix his moorings at the time, was wearing a lifejacket which he inflated when he entered the water. If he had not been wearing this, the outcome would probably have been very different.
