The Pembrokeshire Committee of Macmillan Cancer Support were recently invited by the Mayor of Pembroke, Clr. Dennis Evans, to visit the Town Hall to hold their November meeting in the council chamber.

Before the start of the meeting, the committee spent time viewing the town hall murals which depict the history of the town of Pembroke. They also called into the museum which is run by volunteers from the Pembroke and Monkton History Society and supported by Pembroke Town Council.

For many on the committee, this was their first visit to the Town Hall, and prior to the start of the meeting, the chair of the committee, Pauline Davies, thanked the Mayor for the invite.

Sue Reece, Macmillan funding co-ordinator, also thanked the Mayor for the invite, expressing her thanks to him for nominating Macmillan Cancer Support as one of his charities for his year in office.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the committee enjoyed a buffet lunch provided by the Mayor and Mayoress and were able to view the artefacts on display in the Mayor’s Parlour.

Before leaving the Town Hall, Pauline signed the visitor’s book on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support.
