Members of the Pembroke Committee of Macmillan Cancer Relief held their monthly meeting at the Holyland Hotel last Tuesday. It was reported that the Bridal and Evening Wear Fashion Show, organised by Courtneys, of St. Clears, at the Cleddau Bridge Hotel, had raised £350 for the fund, and the Charity Concert, 'Sounds of Wales', held at Folly Farm, had raised in excess of £3,000. Thanks go to Courtneys and the Chevron Texaco Company for sponsoring these events. As part of Pembrokeshire Fish Week, the committee will be holding a Fish Lunch at Pembroke Town Hall, on Wednesday, June 29, from midday. Tickets are £10 each and can be obtained from committee members or by phoning 01646 684618 or 01646 672695. On Sunday, July 3, the annual Cream Tea will be held at Upton Castle. Admission will be £5 and tickets can be obtained as above or at the gate. Do go and enjoy a delicious tea in a beautiful setting of Upton Castle, together with the usual raffles, tombola and sales stalls. Silcox Coaches have again generously agreed to provide a free bus service leaving Somerfield in Pembroke at 2.30 pm and stopping at all the regular bus stops via Pembroke Dock and Cosheston to Upton Castle. The return bus will leave at 5 pm.
