At their spring coffee morning, held in Pembroke Town Hall, the Pembroke Committee of Macmillan Cancer Relief, together with their friends and supporters, raised the magnificent sum of £545.70. Special features included an April Fools Day Lucky Dip and a Chocolate Fountain, which proved to be very popular. On April 17, members of the local Dyde family will, once again, be running in the London Marathon in aid of the Macmillan charity. Martin Dyde is one of the elite runners and regularly completes the course in around two hours 45 minutes. Sponsorship forms are available from members of the committee and in local shops. A sum in excess of £500 was raised for Macmillan at the St. Brides Inn, by the hardy local folk who took part in the Little Haven Swim on Boxing Day. Anyone suffering from cancer, or those caring for them, who need help either medical, financial or just a knowledgeable friendly chat, should phone the Macmillan Cancer Line on 0808 808 2020 or go on line to http://www.macmillan.org.uk">www.macmillan.org.uk.
