Members of the Pembroke and District Committee for Macmillan Cancer Relief held their monthly meeting last Tuesday evening at South Pembrokeshire Hospital.

It was reported that the Open Days held at Corside Garden Centre in Angle over Easter weekend raised £340.85p in total and it is hoped to repeat this event next year.

Members were notified that the annual house-to-wouse collection in the area would be held between May 17 and 24 and all supporters are asked to contact the secretary for a supply of donation envelopes before that date.

Arrangements were finalised for the Annual Spring Coffee Morning to be held at Pembroke Town Hall today (Friday) from 10 am until 12 noon. Coffee or tea and a Welsh cake will cost £1 and there will be a home-made cakes and preserves stall, a collectables stall a tombola, raffles and much more.

Future dates to be remembered are Wednesday, June 16, which will be the Annual Macmillan Day at Pembroke Garden Centre, and Sunday, July 4, when the sun will be sure to shine on the Annual Cream Tea held in the glorious grounds of Upton Castle.

Committee members should note that the next meeting will be on May 25 at 2.30 pm and will be held at the Holyland Hotel.
