With promotion already secured, last Sunday heralded the final event of the year for Rabbits Society captain Mackie Harts to oversee.

Seventeen Rabbits took to the course for the B & H Trophy, which also combined the annual Captain v Vice-Captain match, where each picks players for their team and add up the combined scores to reveal the eventual winner.

The weather was glorious and the course, once again, was in fabulous condition and high scores were expected.

The play was relatively slow, so thank goodness it wasn't raining as we might have lost a few players back to the clubhouse.

However, once back in the bar, it was revealed that scoring was mainly in the 30s, with the top four being sorted out by way of countback.

That was until the last group came in, with Phil Carpenter recording 40 points to take the B & H Trophy and beating Richard Prout (the lessons are working) and Tony Morris into second and third places, respectively.

During the presentation, Mackie revealed he had chosen three of the top four in his team and revelled in his team-picking abilities over his vice Tim Davies. The final scores for that competition were Mackie 284 points, Tim 258. It seems he does have a point Tim!

Congratulations go to Mackie for his successful year as captain and guiding the Rabbits back into Pool A of the Three Counties League. He will be handing over the reins to Tim on October 14 at the annual general meeting in the clubhouse, so can all members try and be there to show support for next year. It will be 7 for a 7.30 pm start.
