Lower Landsker Trefoil Guild have been out and about enjoying the spring like weather and finding new paths and coffee shops to explore around the area. The Wednesday walks continue throughout the year and prospective members are always welcome to these, and at the monthly meetings.
At the March meeting members were delighted to welcome Anne and Laura who demonstrated how to make the most of the beautiful spring flowers arriving in gardens and florists daily. They took as their theme, ‘Celebrations’ and the flowers took us through births and marriages with colourful spring wreaths to put on a table or front door. Arrangements to celebrate St. David’s Day and Easter were very impressive but the members’ favourite was a Guiding bucket of blue flowers, suitably adorned with the Girl Guiding Trefoil. Anne and Laura generously gave the arrangements for raffle prizes, and the lucky winners went home very happy indeed! The Chairman and Secretary are hoping for better luck next time! Anne and Laura were warmly thanked for giving us such an enjoyable and instructive morning.
The group still look forward to the Monday evening zoom meetings when member Lindy Wainwright can join us from Yorkshire and the discussion ranges from Tenby news to the horrors that abound in the wider world. After one of these chats members decided to do something as a group to help, so a collection was made of toiletries, nappies etc. for Ukraine which Liz took to a local hub for delivery to Poland. It was also good to read that Girlguiding members in the Ukraine , Poland and other countries in the area have been actively helping in many ways, as Guides have always done since World War Two.
The next meeting is on April 6 when members are asked to bring a photo and something else special to them to share. If some of the items have a Guiding theme so much the better.
On April 23, many members are looking forward to joining Trefoil Guilds from all over Wales at the Wales Annual Meeting in Llandyssul, renewing old friendships and making new ones.
