A cockatiel found in Saundersfoot at the weekend has been happily reunited with its owners.

The bird was discovered by a family living at Scandinavia Heights in their garden on Sunday evening.

The family contacted the RSPCA, who then asked local wildlife worker, Maria Evans, of Tinkers Hill, Amroth, if she could look after the bird until its owners were found.

The Observer was contacted yesterday (Thursday) by Tinkers Hill who were delighted to report that the owers of the bird, which had been named 'Cookie' by Maria and had been lodging in her spare room, had contacted her and had been to collect their pet.
