Customers are having to wait 45 minutes in the rain to use Narberth’s new mobile NatWest bank.
The bank closed its high street branch in June this year and replaced it with a van which visits the Bloomfield Centre on the outskirts of the town for just 45 minutes per week.
Angry customers have got in touch with Simon Hart MP to complain about long queues.
“Before now I have been here 20 minutes before opening time and still been 11th in the queue,” said one.
“The alarm goes off at the end of the 45 minutes and they can’t do any more banking, it’s incredible.”
Mr Hart said: “I have also been told that it is too far to walk from town for older customers and if it rains then there are just a few umbrellas for people to borrow while they queue outside.
“One local businesswoman told me that it has taken her 45 minutes to be seen some weeks, and that there can be issues when the internet is down as every transaction takes longer.
Customer Ann Henderson from Narberth added: “The last time I came there were 13 people in front of me and 15 behind me in the queue.”
Mr Hart has now contacted NatWest to request the mobile bank visits Narberth twice a week.
