It's been a good season so far in terms of postponed games. This time last year snow, ice, and rain caused umpteen weeks of disruption which caused a fixture backlog that was more congested than the M25 in rush hour. This Christmas, some teams have played so many matches they only have a few left before their season comes to an end. How times change.

There's been the odd game here and there postponed due to heavy rainfall and Narberth bore the brunt of it this week as they had to postpone their home match against Goodwick United. With the Christmas break upon us, it means the Bluebirds will have three weeks without football.

Tenby's start to this campaign wasn't as they had hoped, yet they finished 2011 in positive style after completing a 4-1 away win at Clarbeston Road.

Leading 2-0 at half-time, Mike Lewis's men dominated the match as Kieran Lewis struck first, before Callum Proctor added the second.

Former Welsh Youth international Proctor proved instrumental throughout, adding his second just after the break, before the home side struck back while Tenby stepped off the gas.

It was left to 17-year-old Callum Greer to seal the win, however, as he fired in the team's fourth close to the end.

Lewis was succinct in his appraisal of the team's performance.

"It was comfortable and a good way to finish the year," he said.

Carew were involved in a tight tussle away at Lamphey, although their trip home over the Ridgeway was a disappointment as they lost 4-3.

Sam Goodwin, Haydn Shapcott and Iwan Izzard were the men to score for the visitors.

Had Kilgetty's game against Goodwick seconds been scheduled for home, they too could have fallen victim to the elements. Instead, their game was played away at Phoenix Park, not the easiest of places to go, especially against a team that's down in the doldrums of division two. For Allen Hurst's men this was the proverbial six-pointer and given they won 3-1, it's a shame they couldn't get six points for the result. Still three is better than none and it helped his team climb above Goodwick in the table and out of the relegation zone.

The visitors took a 2-1 lead into half-time, with Paul Hodge grabbing the first and Grant James the second, before a Hodge penalty put them 3-1 up in the second half.

Tom Watkins then had a goal disallowed for offside which would have given his team some added breathing space, not to mention settling the nerves of their manager, who said the last five minutes was 'twitchy' after Goodwick reduced the deficit.

"It was a very good win," said Hurst. "The boys played exceptionally well and deserved the win. We certainly needed it."

Saundersfoot finished their year on a high as they defeated Milford Athletic 3-1 at home.

After a goalless display last weekend, the Sports made up for it in style as they eased past the visitors with consummate ease. Dan Bates, Nick Cope and Geoff Marsh were the men who led the team to victory.

Pendine finished with a result that's been all too familiar as they lost 4-0 to Pennar Robins' second team.

The result keeps the Gulls rooted to the foot of the table with just five points from 14 games and with a lot of ground to make up in the New Year.

Tenby's second team game at Broad Haven was postponed, although Manorbier United took the field at Haverfordwest Cricket Club and came away with a hard-fought draw.

In miserable conditions on a miserable pitch, United dug deep to secure a 1-1 result, with Dave Blackwell grabbing their solitary goal.

Lawrenny played across the road from Manorbier as they featured against Merlins Bridge reserves.

As comebacks go theirs was impressive as they overcame a 3-0 deficit to win 4-3.

Narberth seconds continue to impress in division three as they came from behind in the second half to defeat Hubberston 4-3.

In testing blustery conditions, Adrian Howells's team dominated the opening exchanges to take an early lead.

Jordan Williams latched on to a cross from the impressive Josh Layzell to put the Bluebirds 1-0 up, but the home side responded soon after, leaving the teams tied at the break.

Straight form the kick-off, Williams added his second, before Hubberston drew level again, before pulling ahead soon after.

Brothers Ashley and Ryan Williams then combined from a free-kick, with the latter scoring Narberth's third, before Ashley ended the game through a scrambled goal late on.

Howells said it was a tough way to finish the year.

"Any team that can go down there in those conditions and get points is doing something right. It was a very difficult game against very difficult opponents and our boys played well to win."

Last week, St. Clears manager Craig Weston made a rallying call to his troops to go into the New Year undefeated in the league and his men responded with a thumping home win that allowed them to go into the festive break in style.

They beat Pembroke Boro 6-1, with Sean Seymour Davies netting a deserved brace as the Saints dominated throughout.

Dorian Davies, Steve Thomas, Jamie Goodyear and Eddie Wiggins were the others to score in a one-sided display.

Carew seconds' home game against Monkton Swifts was postponed as the Swifts failed to raise a side, while Saundersfoot Sports drew 2-2 away at Solva seconds, with Jamie Morgan and Mick Cornick scoring their goals.

As expected, Kilgetty's second team game against Haverfordwest Cricket Club fell foul of the weather and St. Clears' seconds may have wished their game away at Letterston had done so, too, as they came home with nothing to show following a 2-0 loss.

Lawrenny seconds ended the year in disappointment as they lost 5-1 at home to Cosheston Cougars. Tim Mills scored their only goal in a frustrating game for them.
