The final weekend of league fixtures for 2010 ended as they began in January with the weather causing the postponement of the majority of matches.

Twelve months ago it was the rain that prevented Pembrokeshire's footballers from taking the field; this weekend it was snow and ice that was the issue. The conditions may lead to picture postcard scenes, yet behind the pretty façade lays a menace for footballers.

It's unlikely these postponements will cause too many issues come the end of the season when the rush to complete league fixtures can cause some teams to play three times a week.

The fact the league programme began two weeks early this season will put paid to that, yet with Christmas and New Year falling on a Saturday this year, it means some clubs, like Narberth firsts for example, won't have played for six weeks.

For goalkeepers, the enforced rest may not be a blessing in disguise as the freezing temperatures will result in 90 minutes of misery that no amount of thermals could relieve, yet for outfield players it will mean trying to regain match fitness again.

There were no matches in division one and only a handful in the other divisions, with Kilgetty seconds thankful of getting the chance to play as they won 4-2 away against Milford United's second team.

The win was their fifth of the season and allowed them to climb up the table to fifth from bottom.

Jack Bevan scored twice for the Kingsmoor team to help lead the victory march, with Josh Bevan and Duanne Rossiter adding the other goals in a convincing win before the Christmas break.

Carew firsts managed to play away at Goodwick United seconds, yet went down to their fifth defeat of the season as they lost 2-1. James Hinchliffe got the only goal for the visitors in a disappointing defeat.

It was first against second in division three's match of the day as Tenby seconds travelled to Hakin.

The Seasiders were two points behind the Vikings going into the match and would have overtaken them at the top had they won, yet the home side were too strong on the day as they won 3-0.
