Kilgetty manager Andrew Cope had no complaints with the way his team performed on Saturday, despite losing 2-1 away at Goodwick.
The visiting manager saw his team go up after seven minutes when talented teenager Rhys Hewson struck a sweetly-timed goal, yet it didn't prove to be enough against a well-organised, combative team.
"We worked hard," said Cope. "I can't moan about it really because they just about edged it. We had our chances and if we had taken them we may have snuck a win, but they deserved it in the end."
Despite Hewson's goal, the Phoenix Park outfit responded just 10 minutes later and went ahead just before the break.
Although Nick Cope and the outstanding Grant James had opportunities, they were thwarted by the home team 'keeper, who kept his side ahead of the game.
In-form Narberth hosted Clarbeston Road and ground out a 2-1 win, with their second half performance in particular impressing manager Nigel Thomas.
"We definitely deserved it. Our second half performance was superb and in the last 15 we could have scored more. Our back four of Kyle Quartermaine, Ashley Williams, Adrian Howells and Richard Henton was outstanding, while Jordan Williams up front continues to impress."
Williams got his team off to a miracle start, scoring after five minutes, albeit a slightly scrambled effort, but the visitors responded with one of their own just before the break.
Thomas gave his troops a bit of a dressing down in the interval and it worked, with the Bluebirds dominant throughout. Adrian Howells grabbed the winner following a fine run down the left and with chances to extend their lead after the second was scored, the home team were good value for their win.
In Division Two, Manorbier United lost 2-0 at home against Johnston, while Pendine also lost at home following their 3-2 result against Letterston, Justin Blewitt and Roger Hunt grabbing the goals for the Gulls.
A Nielson Cole goal was enough for Saundersfoot to secure a fine home draw against Milford United, while Tenby were in inspirational form, winning 6-1 at home against Angle. Dean Rossiter, James Buckle and Daryl Mansbridge all grabbed a brace of goals in a game they totally dominated.
In the Division Three Cup semi-final, favourites St. Clears were given a torrid time by Merlins Bridge, who drafted five boys back from university to play in the game. Neither side was willing to concede too much and it was no surprise to see the game go to penalties after a stalemate in full and extra-time.
The Saints eventually won 5-4, with Jason Owens the hero of the day after he saved the Wizards' third attempt from the spot.
After last week's fine result against the Saints, Narberth's second team were brought back down to earth with a 6-0 win at home against Hundleton.
"Because they saw our result last week, they stepped it up," said Steve Jones. "In saying that, we were a shadow of the side that beat St. Clears last week, we didn't show up at all, but they were good and we can't complain."
What was most disappointing for Narberth was the fact they were playing with a slight breeze and down the slope in the second half, yet couldn't come back from being 2-0 down at the break as Hundleton eventually scored a further four goals.
Elsewhere in Division Three, Lawrenny beat Solva 2-0, with James Phillips and Mike Howe scoring the goals.
In the fourth division, Carew Seconds lost 1-0 away at Johnston, while Kilgetty lost 2-0 at home against Milford Athletic. Saundersfoot were indebted to Carl Wainwright and a brace of goals from James Caine as they secured a 3-2 home win over Milford United, while in division Five, Tenby drew 2-2 away at Letterston after Mike Lindsay and Marcus Lyons scored the goals.
