A Narberth lady is in the running for a top prize in 'big baking bonanza' competition. Events organiser Chloe Valentine (pictured) has made the shortlist of the Border Biscuits Big Baking Bonanza with her salted caramel and pistachio cookie dreams creation and will go forward to the final stage of the competition. The six top biscuit recipes were whittled down during an extensive judging process which included taste testing by well known baking bloggers. The final six will now go forward to the expert judging panel, which will be fronted by TV chef Dean Edwards, the Border Biscuits baking team and representatives from ASDA, where the winning biscuit will be stocked nationwide for a limited period. The recipes have been selected for their creativity, innovation and unusual flavour combinations. The judging panel will taste and test the final recipes to pick a favourite flavour which will go on sale in ASDA stores nationwide for a limited period. The winner will also receive £2,000 and a place on a fantastic baking course. Chloe is the only one in her family who is baking mad, a skill they say has been passed down from her great grandmother. She bakes with any spare time she has and enjoys experimenting with different flavours in cakes, bakes and biscuits. "I'm really passionate about baking and I'm delighted to go through to the final for the Big Baking Bonanza; I'm keeping my fingers crossed," she said. Dean Edwards, face of the Big Baking Bonanza, said: "The recipes for the Big Baking Bonanza have been very impressive and really creative. The flavour combinations have been on trend and I think the winning recipe, whichever we choose, will be a big hit. I've loved being part of the whole Big Baking Bonanza process and can't wait to get to the factory and taste the final six."
