Members of Pembroke Heritage and Town Environment Group are celebrating their team being in bloom after receiving a generous donation from local heating oil supplier, OJ Williams.
The group, which forms part of Pembroke Community Association, has been trying to improve the local area with a scheme called 'Put the Pride Back in Pembroke' for the past four years and applied to OJ Williams for much-needed funding.
Local residents have enjoyed seeing Pembroke Commons decorated with daffodils each spring so much, the group was asked to plant 1,000 more ahead of the upcoming season.
The £70 donation was made as part of OJ Williams' charitable bursary scheme after team members from the group contacted the company asking for help. OJ Williams is committed to the local community and aims to support worthwhile causes in the area, providing an extra helping hand to those in need.
Elizabeth George, development officer at Pembroke Community Association, said: "We are heavily reliant on donations and the funding from OJ Williams has enabled us to provide local residents with colourful flowers that we otherwise couldn't afford, just in time for spring."
Andrea Whittle, depot manager for OJ Williams, said: "We were more than happy to help the association, which works voluntarily to improve our local community. With our bursary donation, we hope they will continue with their great effort in Pembroke."
As a loyal supporter to the region, providing heating oil and diesel to rural and remote communities, OJ Williams launched the charitable bursary scheme to support local community groups, charities and sports teams who need a helping hand.
