Postponed matches
Saundersfoot's footballers had a day off on Saturday as the ground was waterlogged for the home match in Division One against St. Ishmaels, and in the corresponding Reserve Division One fixture at Tish the same conditions applied.
Pendine's footballers also suffered the same fate in Division Two, when their home game against Manorbier United was also called off because of a waterlogged pitch.
In addition, the Reserve Division Two fixture between Manorbier United and Lawrenny was postponed pending completion of certain registration documents.
Division One
Camrose 3 Carew 3
Lowly Carew did well to earn a draw away to Camrose who lie in third place in Division One.
Following some clever interplay between James Buckle and Carl Wainwright, Carew opened the scoring with a neat finish by James Buckle.
Camrose equalised with a quick break from the other end of the field when a corner by Carew was intercepted. Mike Venables beat the Carew defence to the ball to slip it past Ian Kerrison in goal.
When Camrose were rather controversially awarded a penalty following a tackle by Carew skipper Daryl John, the home team took the lead when Marcus Taylor was on target.
Shortly before the interval, Carew were awarded a penalty when Robert Scourfield was pushed in the box, but Nick Shelmerdine slipped as he took the kick and the ball went over the crossbar.
Still smarting after their defeat against Tenby the previous week, Carew came out with all guns blazing in the second half. They were even more determined after Mike Venables took advantage of a half clearance to pick up his second goal of the game for Camrose.
The visitors showed great resolve as they kept themselves in the game and had their just rewards when Carl Wainwright scored following a free-kick by Nick Shelmerdine.
With 10 minutes of the match remaining, James Buckle equalised with a lovely goal after being put through by Daryl John and came close to notching up the winner just before the final whistle.
It was an excellent performance by the Carew players which bodes well for better things for the remainder of the season and the goal scorers took their chances well.
Hakin United 4 Narberth 5
The Bluebirds played out of their skins to pick up a rare away win against Hakin United.
Clearly boosted by the return of Richard Adams and Richard Nash to the fold, the visitors took the game to the Vikings and were given the lead after David Gillard picked up a rebound from a free-kick.
However, Karl Rhead equalised for the Vikings with a header from a corner before the break.
The Bluebirds were given a dream start at the beginning of the second half, with Marc Hughes regaining the lead with a good shot inside the far post in the first minute and five minutes later David Gillard followed up with his second goal of the match.
The Bluebirds suffered a setback with an accidental own goal from David Johns, but a brilliant solo effort by Raff Barnett quickly restored the lead of two goals.
David Gillard had a terrific game up front and clinched his hat-trick with a first time shot from 20 yards.
The Vikings are no pushover on their own ground and came back strongly in the closing stages with two goals by Leighton Edwards, but the Bluebirds held out to record an historic win.
Richard Adams was the play-maker up front and formed a productive partnership with David Gillard, while Richard Nash had an excellent game in midfield.
Tenby 4 Herbrandston 2
Tenby carried on from the way in which they finished last week in their win against Carew and were simply superb in the first half hour.
Ryan Lawrence gave the Seasiders the lead when he met a precision cross from Scott McLaughlin with a diving header.
Tenby were quick to score again with a free-kick from the edge of the box by Phil Catlin and a Jack Christopher shot from the edge of the box put Tenby three goals up after the first 20 minutes.
Although Tenby were in complete command in the first half, Herbie had two goals in the last five minutes, including a penalty against the run of play.
Herbie raised their game in the second half and Tenby were also forced to move up a gear as both teams battled hard.
Tight-knit defence by the Tenby players kept the visitors at bay and with 10 minutes of the match remaining Scott McLaughlin scored a cracking goal from 30 yards when he lobbed the Herbie 'keeper.
Goalkeeper Ben Evans showed a safe pair of hands under pressure, especially from corners, for the Tenby team and there were also good performances from Jimmy Thomas, Anthony Griffiths and Phil Catlin.
Division Two
Kilgetty 6
Milford Athletic 2
Kilgetty continued their fine form in Division Two with a big win at home against Milford Athletic, although the win was not quite as convincing as it might look on paper.
Michael Beynon put Kilgetty two goals up in the first 10 minutes with two well taken shots, but for a while the Kilgetty team lost the momentum.
When James Davies pulled back a goal for Milford Athletic, it was the agility of Kilgetty goalkeeper Christian Phillips which kept his team in the game for the remainder of the half.
In the second half, the Kilgetty players rediscovered their rhythm and fullback Luke Reynolds put them further in front with a goal after 25 minutes.
It was followed quickly by Mike Beynon's hat-trick to put Kilgetty three goals in front.
Although Jamie Davies picked up his second goal of the match for the visitors, goals by Duane Reynolds and Mike Beynon took the Kilgetty tally to six before the final whistle.
Michael Beynon's ability to seize on half chances was a big asset to the Kilgetty team, but the platform for the win was provided by the defensive work of Simon Wood, Bobby Bevan, Darren Taylor and Luke Reynolds, combined with the goalkeeping of Christian Phillips.
Lawrenny 2
St. Clears 2
The visitors had the better of procedings in the first half, with the midfield players creating numerous chances. It was no surprise when the Saints took the lead through Eddie Wiggins, although Steven Lewis was quick to latch on to a defensive error to equalise for Lawrenny before half-time.
Lawrenny went in front in the second half following another goal by Steven Lewis. The move had started on the left, with Phil Cole doing well to get to the ball and he crossed into the box where Lewis was on hand to poke it in from close range following a typical goalmouth scramble.
Within minutes of that goal, Lewis might have scored again, but his shot hit the crossbar.
Eddie Wiggins equalised for the Saints with the goal of the match when he beat three Lawrenny defenders and finished a fine solo effort with a shot from an acute angle.
The finishing of Eddie Wiggins was a feature of the game for the visitors. For Lawrenny, Ian Jenkins was solid at the back, Phil Cole grafted hard in midfield, while Robert Williams and Steven Lewis worked well together up front.
Division Three
St. Florence 6
Broad Haven 4
The Saints had an excellent win at home to Division Three leaders Broad Haven and as a result are just five points behind them with two games in hand.
Jamie Roberts opened the scoring for St. Florence after an eight-man move which started from the back four and Phil Evans extended the lead to put them two goals up after 15 minutes.
It was a ding dong tussle and Steven Roberts pulled one back for the visitors, before Mathew Jones edged the Saints in front again.
With 10 minutes of the first half remaining, Lee Dalton reduced the deficit to just one goal, but shortly before the break, Scott Smith picked up the Saints' fourth goal of the first half.
In the second half, the visitors drew level when Steven Roberts and Lee Dalton capitalised on some defensive mistakes by St. Florence.
It was anybody's game until the last eight minutes when vital strikes by Mathew Jones and Scott Smith ensured that the Saints were to pick up all of the points.
It was a committed team performance by the St. Florence players, for whom Mathew Jones was outstanding in the centre of midfield and Ben McDonnell stood out at left-back.
St. Davids 6 Templeton 2
After a terrific start with a first minute goal by Morgan Preece from a direct free-kick, the visitors faded and allowed St. Davids to score four goals in the first half, with David Price clinching a first half hat-trick, supplemented by a goal from Gareth Thomas.
After being below par in the first half, Templeton raised their game a little in the second half and Wayne Scourfield clawed back one goal after being put through and beating the 'keeper in a one-to-one situation.
However, two late goals by St. Davids, both of which were scored by David Price, put the game out of reach for the visitors.
Although Templeton conceded six goals, the margin of defeat would have been much greater had it not been for the goalkeeping skills of Jason Oatley.
Reserve Division One
Johnston 2 Tenby 4
This was another good win by the Tenby team who are now reaping the rewards of playing with a settled team.
Although the visitors scored four goals, with a little bit of luck it could have been double figures as the Tenby players found the woodwork seven times during the match.
Johnston had the better of the opening exchanges and profited from playing down the slope at the start of the first half.
After Huw Scriven had put Johnston in front, Tenby fought back and equalised through a goal by David Otton.
Centre-half Jimmy Cowan gave Tenby the lead when he moved up for a corner and then young striker Liam Robson extended their advantage from short range.
However, just before half-time, Mark Sture found the back of the net for Johnston.
Conditions deteriorated in the second half and both teams found it difficult to play quality football. The only goal of the second half came after 25 minutes when Peter Horsley ran across the box from a corner and deceived the 'keeper with his low scoring shot.
It was a good team performance by Tenby, with Peter Horsley and David Otton working tirelessly in midfield.
Pennar Robins 2 Kilgetty 3
The visitors were one goal down after five minutes when Ray Lo scored for the Robins from the penalty spot.
However, Jamie Morgan equalised quickly with a goal inside the far post after a good move down the left involving Jamie Bessant and Tim Scale.
A head injury to Dan Hughes disrupted proceedings for the visitors when he left the field for treatment.
Although he returned to the action, Colin Groves took advantage of the situation for the Robins and found the back of the net with a header after a good move down the right.
After the Robins had the better of play in the first half, Kilgetty started to get into the game following the interval.
Allan Williams, Duane Rossiter and Jamie Morgan each came close to scoring and Duane Rossiter equalised with 20 minutes of the match remaining.
When Kilgetty were awarded a corner, the ball rebounded to Rossiter who found the top corner of the net with a cracking half-volley shot over the heads of the Robins' defenders.
Player manager Andrew Cope pulled off a number of good saves for Kilgetty to thwart Pennar's efforts to regain the lead and in the closing stages Kilgetty picked up the winner.
Geoff Marsh had a good run down the right and then cut in towards the box. The ball rebounded across the goal mouth area and Richard Griffiths was on hand to score from close range.
Dan Hughes and Ben Hughes combined well at the back and Jamie Morgan caused problems for the Robins' defence with his probing runs throughout the game.
Narberth 0
Hakin United 1
Weakened through the absence of player manager Adrian Howells and striker Peter Phillips, Narberth nevertheless gave leaders Hakin United a run for their money in this key Reserve Division One match.
The Vikings created a lot of chances throughout the match, but the Narberth defence held firm until 10 minutes before the final whistle.
Ian Aldred, the Hakin player manager, came on as a late substitution and he scored with his first touch of the ball after going up for a corner.
The Bluebirds battled hard throughout the match, but only created two scoring chances of note when Mathew Lloyd and Adrian Jones came close to scoring.
It was a solid defensive performance by the Bluebirds, but the Vikings held the upper hand throughout the match and deserved their narrow victory.
Herbrandston 0 Carew 7
After their disastrous showing at Narberth the previous week, Carew came back in resounding fashion with a comprehensive win away to Herbrandston.
The visitors took advantage of being able to play down the slope in the first half and found the back of the net three times.
Haydn Shapcott opened the scoring with a goal to the far post and followed it up with a second goal, before Ceri Bradley completed the first half scoring with a left-footed shot which went in off the post.
In the second half, Shapcott added three more goals, the pick of the bunch being a nicely judged header off a cross from Ceri Bradley.
Shapcott came close to scoring one more goal, but it was half saved, only for Sammy Goodwin to be in support and he scored the last goal of the match for Carew.
Seb Palin combined well with Ceri Bradley up front, but Haydn Shapcott was the star of the show as he had a good all-round game apart from putting his chances away.
Reserve Division Two
Neyland 3 Pendine 3
Robbie Waters gave the Seagulls an early lead, but Neyland equalised towards the end of the first half with a well-worked goal scored by Martin James.
There was little to chose between the two teams and the second half was just as competitive.
A lack of concentration allowed Neyland to take the lead through Adam Ablitt. However, Pendine fought back and Richard Jupp scored from a corner taken by Robbie Waters.
With fortunes changing quickly, Neyland regained the lead when Adam Ablitt created some space to score. However, the Seagulls persevered and when Steven Jones was brought down in the box, Lee Waters held his nerve to score from the penalty spot to equalise.
Neyland continued to pressurise the Pendine defence, but the visitors were up to the task, with Richard James and Paul John both being prominent in defence.
Paul John had the last word with an excellent headed clearance from a long distance shot just before the final whistle to give the visitors a hard fought draw.
St. Clears 1 Solva 2
St. Clears remain top of Reserve Division Two despite going down at home to a strong Solva team who had the edge throughout the match.
Although the visitors made all of the early running in the first half, Mel Lewis gave the Saints the lead with an excellent shot into the bottom corner.
With a number of attacks mounted by Solva, it was only a matter of time for the equaliser to come. Andrew Plant got the equaliser when he ran on to a long kick out of goal by the Solva 'keeper to outwit the covering St. Clears defence.
Bill Chant put Solva in front after 10 minutes of the second half when the Saints were guilty of another defensive slip-up.
Although the Saints came back into the game and attacked at every opportunity, they were unable to equalise, so Solva picked up their fourth win of the season.
Excellent goalkeeping by Stephen Evans kept the Saints in the game, while the midfield trio of Marcus Leefe, James Carnell and Andrew McCabe provided the engine room for the Saints in midfield.
