Sir,

I am a regular visitor to Tenby and Saundersfoot (having a parent who retired this way) and when reading the Observer, August 12, I was disgusted to see that the local authority had refused a grant towards CCTV equipment for the RNLI to protect their station from vandalism. The local authority rely on visitors to bring revenue to Tenby and the lifeboat is an essential lifeline for those who forget the sea and cliffs are a dangerous place to play.

May I, on behalf of all holidaymakers, thank Powersafe CCTV for their generosity and hope that the local authority are ashamed of themselves.

Elizabeth Doyle, Solihull, West Midlands.
