The Pembrokeshire National Trust Association made a donation of £2,000 to the National Trust at its recent annual genral meeting. The gift was presented by Christopher Willcock, the association chairman, to Jonathan Hughes, NT property manager for Pembrokeshire. Jonathan thanked the association members who had made this possible through subscriptions and support of its programme of activities. He noted that the association had now donated over £10,000 since it was founded in 1998, which had helped the National Trust in Pembrokeshire in a variety of ways. Previous donations had funded ponies to graze cliff tops, an interactive display for visitors to the NT Shop at St. Davids, environmental monitoring equipment for the Tudor Merchant's House in Tenby and publication of the booklet, 'A History of Stackpole Court'. The latest donation will be used to update the 'Gazeteer of National Trust Properties in Pembrokeshire', to reflect the many changes since it was last published over 10 years ago. It will provide an introduction to each property, with information on its interesting features, and details of opening hours, access arrangements and visitor services. Following the presentation, Jonathan gave a talk 'Influences on the Landscape - The Mark of Man' illustrated with photos from National Trust properties in the county, covering Iron Age field systems to the present day.
