PICTURED is Llinos Jenkins having just completed a five-day trek to Machu Picchu. She was taking a well-earned breather at this wonderful spot overlooking the pre Colombian Inca site often referred to as 'The Lost City of the Incas'.

However, she should have been in mortar board and gown at Cardiff City Hall to receive her PGCE degree in primary education which she gained with a full set of ones from UWIC University Cardiff.

She is a former pupil of Lamphey and Tenby Junior Schools and Greenhill School, Tenby, and is the much-loved daughter of Julie and Colin Jenkins, and sister of Luc.

Llinos, who trekked to the Arctic in 2009 with a team of husky dogs, has now settled down a little and takes up her first teaching post in September with a Year 4 class in Cardiff .
