A few fund-raising events have been organised by the Village Hall committee recently. A very enjoyable cheese and wine and line dancing evening was held in June, under the very efficient guidance of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Space, who run classes in the hall every week. The committee are very grateful to members of the class who also supported and lots of fun entailed. It is hoped to organise a similar evening in the autumn. The next event was the annual children's walking treasure hunt. The route was planned by Delyth and Gemma Hughes, who also accompanied the children, and at the half-way mark they were met by the chairman, Jamie Lewis, and secretary, Morfydd Howells, who served a very welcome drink, biscuits and crisps. The winner with the most points was Catrin Thomas. The walk ended in Sue and Paul Marsden's garden where the children had a great time on the trampoline. The next function is the annual show, sports, fun and games, car boot sale - bring your own table, pig and beef roast, on Friday, August 12, followed at 8.30 pm, with a Country and Western with music by Sheri and Steel. We hope you will support us as usual for this event, where you are assured of a great evening and a chance to meet up with old friends.
