Littering at Tenby train station - and a lack of rubbish being removed at the facility has been highlighted once again.
Litter issues are nothing new to the seaside town of Tenby, nor at the railway station. However, during the busy summer season and the month of August - consistent waste removal appears to have been abandoned at times.
Photos sent to the Observer of the scene this morning (Monday, August 11) show the amount of litter has been left to build-up over the weekend, which proved to be a very busy one for the seaside resort, in light of the lovely weather.
One rail user who wished to highlight their frustration, told the Observer, that the station has always been a hotspot for littering and rubbish, but it leaves a terrible impression at this busy time of the year, with a wealth of people arriving to Tenby via train.
“The first August weekend all the bins were overflowing especially around the ticket machine bins - but despite all the rubbish being reported, no cleaner turned up,” they stated.
“The weekend just gone by, Friday night rubbish was building up but to my astonishment the two bins by the ticket machine had been completely removed! This of course meant all the other bins couldn't cope.

“By Saturday afternoon all bins were overflowing and many bags dumped by their sides.
“Some of it is due to holiday lets dumping their rubbish and lack of bins during the peak season.
“Having the rubbish on the platform is obviously a danger to passengers. Up until early this morning the cleaner again hadn't been there over the weekend.
“It makes my blood boil when I see passengers get off the train and have to walk through it all!” they added.
A Transport for Wales spokesperson said: "We are committed to maintaining a clean and welcoming station for all our passengers.
“We are currently installing additional bins at Tenby station and actively working to address the recent challenges of fly-tipping to ensure our station is maintained to the high standards our passengers deserve."
