Lisa Wells, her family and partner Mark Davies have been great supporters of Elly’s Ward 10 Flag Appeal and had a ‘special’ birthday party to raise more funds. Lisa and Mark had also completed the Swansea Half Marathon for the appeal as well.
The party was a joint birthday party for Lisa’s 30th, her sister Noella’s 40th and in memory of her dad, Don Wells, who would have been 80 in May.
Lisa said: “I raise funds in memory of my dad who passed away in September 2016 after his short battle with cancer. We wanted to raise funds again to help Elly’s Ward 10 Flag Appeal as all the staff were excellent with both my mum and dad while they were treated on Ward 10.”
The Disney themed fancy dress party was a huge success; it was supported by lots of family and friends from as far as the Isle of Wight. Lots of raffle prizes were donated from individuals and local businesses, prizes were given for best fancy dressed and Claire Edwards sang on the night. A great time was had by everyone who attended and the fancy dress costumes were amazing.
Lisa said: “My family and I are over the moon. On the night, we raised £720 for Elly’s Ward 10 Flag Appeal. Thank you all so much for all the support, this takes our grand total raised for the appeal to £1,176.20.”
Elly’s dad, Lyn, said: “We are proud and humbled to have the support of Lisa and Mark who have raised a huge amount for the appeal. We have started to purchase equipment for Ward 10 so this money will immediately be put to helping cancer patients in Withybush Hospital. Their help is very much appreciated by all the nurses, staff and patients on Ward 10.”
Elly’s Ward 10 Flag Appeal is raising funds for patient experience and environment on the Ward 10 (cancer ward) at Withybush Hospital.
