Tenby District Lions Club put the 'S' into Tenby's annual Boxing Day Swim...'S' for soup that is!

The day started early for the Lions Club conveying over 75 litres of soup, donated by the Giltar Hotel, together with much appreciated mulled wine down onto the North Beach ready to serve free soup to the gallant swimmers who braved to nine degree sea temperatures to take part in this nationally recognised event.

This year, there were more swimmers and spectators than in past years due to the amazing coverage Tenby has received on both TV and the in the press, therefore much praise must be given to people in the town who have done so much to promote this truly beautiful part of Wales and made it almost a by-word for the place to be seen in.

The sheer number of events staged in Tenby in the last year has now reached a point that almost every week the town holds an event; people flock there from all over Britain to be a part of it.

The Lions Paella Festival for example was for the Tenby Lions the best supported event they have ever staged, helping raise funds to enable the club to help others, throughout the county and beyond.

So thanks from the Lions go to all who attended the swim and to all those that donated so generously on the day.
