Tenby inshore lifeboat was launched at 10.56 am on Friday at the request of Milford Haven Coastguard to assist in the medical evacuation of a student who sustained a suspected lower back injury following a fall from a sea defence wall.
The university student, on holiday in the area, staggered to the base of The Paragon steps before collapsing in pain.
Tenby volunteer lifeboat crew assisted the town's coastguard rescue team to provide vital first aid, before recovering him onto a spinal board and up the cliff path steps to an awaiting ambulance.
The student was taken to Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest.
