Milford Haven Library and Information Centre is delighted to welcome David Saunders MBE on Thursday, July 14, for a fascinating talk on his life on Skomer Island.
In 1960, he became the first warden of Skomer and set up home there with his wife and two small children as the only human inhabitants of the island.
The family spent seven years there, surrounded by thousands of seabirds, grey seals and the unique Skomer Vole.
David, whose work in wildlife conservation led to an MBE, writes regularly for ‘Bird Watching’ magazine and has published a number of books including the ‘RSPB Guide to British Birds’.
The talk is entitled ‘What you need is a good milking goat’. It is free to attend and begins at 6.30 pm.
