At a full meeting of Pembrokeshire County Council recently, a draft Licensing Policy was approved which will now form the basis of all decision-making under the new licensing system, which begins on the February 7. Said Gareth Watts, principal officer within the council's licensing team: "This document is extremely important as it sets out in clear terms what issues the council will take into account when making decisions on applications and other matters in relation to the new controls" The policy will be available on the council's website http://www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk">www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk in the New Year or upon request by contacting the licensing team on 01437 775472 The authority is also inviting all licensees to a free seminar at The Pavilion, Withybush Showground, Haverfordwest, on January 18, at 10 am to hear about the new changes and what opportunities the new laws will bring to their businesses. Separate meetings have also been arranged for representatives from all town and community councils at County Hall on January 17 and 18, at 7 pm, to hear about the way in which these organisations can influence the way premises in their area are being operated. For further information, the licensing team can be contacted at County Hall.
