The licensees of a South Pembrokeshire public house have been fined for allowing unlicensed public entertainment to take place on their premises. Robin and Penelope Hill, of the Stepaside Inn, Stepaside, were each fined £100 with £100 costs by magistrates in Haverfordwest, last Thursday. The court heard that on August 14, two licensing inspectors from Pembrokeshire County Council entered the premises and witnessed three people singing and playing guitars. The pub did not have a public entertainment licence. Magistrates said that in setting the level of the fine, they had taken into the account the absence of financial gain. The Hills had denied being involved in unlicensed public entertainment.
