Lennie the Leek has been called up to help children tuck into their school meals. Pembrokeshire County Council's school meals mascot was on hand recently at Golden Grove School/Ysgol Gelli Aur in Pembroke urging children to eat healthily at lunchtime. His presence was part of an initiative by the council's catering department to boost the take-up of healthy school dinners. Children eating school meals received Lennie water bottles and were also given stickers and certificates. As well as Lennie, Pembrokeshire County Council staff were on hand to talk to parents, pupils and lunchtime supervisors about the benefits of healthy eating.
