As the end of a very special 40th anniversary year for Lawrenny Yacht Club draws near, members turned out in force at the Lawrenny Arms for the annual Christmas party.

A super Christmas meal was put on by Steve and Theresa Adams, of the Lawrenny Arms, and some 90-plus adults and children sat down to eat.

Father Christmas kindly took time off at this very busy time of year to make an appearance and bring along a sack of presents for members' children, from the youngest to the oldest. The children also enjoyed some organised games and won some great prizes.

The atmosphere was very Christmassy and everyone agreed that it was another excellent event.

On the morning after the party, members of Lawrenny Yacht Club went along to Angle Lifeboat Station to present a cheque for £505, being the amount raised at the summer fete when the profits of all stalls are donated to the RNLI. Coxswain Andy Elliott and engineer Rich Bowles showed members around the immaculate, hi-tech lifeboat and were more than happy to answer all the questions fired at them.

Members thoroughly enjoyed their visit and time on board, but hoped that there would not be any occasion when it would be necessary to use this amazing facility.
