FOR over a decade Laurie Dale has received much critical acclaim for his theatrical portrayal of the famous Tenby born artist Augustus John.

Since 1998, Laurie, adding to his legendary list of dramatic and musical roles, has performed a number of 'Augustus John Tenby Walks' on behalf of the Tenby Museum and Art Gallery, together with stage presentations based on the artist's own writings.

On Friday, June 26, The Friends of Tenby Museum and Art Gallery will present a public performance of 'The Tenby of my Memories', a play in which the artist recalls his life as a child and adolescent, growing up in late 19th century Tenby. The play is adapted from 'Chiaroscuro' - autobiographical fragments written in the 1950s.

'The Tenby of my Memories' will be performed at 8 pm at St. Mary's Church House, Tenby. Tickets are priced at £4 and are available at the Museum, Dale's Music Store, High Street and Cofion Bookshop, Bridge Street. To order by telephone, please ring (01834) 844633.

All proceeds will be donated by the Friends of Tenby Museum to support Museum developments.
