Seventeen-year-old Lauren George from Pembroke Dock, an ambassador for Cancer Research UK and now the JLS Foundation, held a charity night recently, called Dance For Life at the Pater Hall.
The event to help raise money to fight teenage cancer took place on June 29 and with the help of Lauren's family, friends and grandmother local councillor Pam George, £1,420 was made for charity.
There was a small auction on the night which Lauren had arranged from her contacts in London which went very well, and featured some memorabilia, with items signed by the likes of One Direction, Leona Lewis and Little Mix.
A raffle also took place with the help of Lauren's sister Nicola and cousin Charlotte, who walked around all night with a donation bucket.
The evening was a great success as Lauren, a keen singer songwriter, sang on stage with her cousin Mathew George, another singer songwriter.
Music also came from local duo Sky High, Lauren's dad Jonathan and Phillip George. Her brother Craig also performed a DJ set for a few hours.
"There is a lot of hard work that goes into these events and without the help of some local businesses that donated raffle prizes to help out and the support of friends and family, we could not raise this money," said Lauren.
"As cancer hit me at nine-years-old, I just want to help make money to give to the charity to help as many people in the future," she added.
This year, Lauren was chosen by the group JLS to be their ambassador for their cancer charity, which so far has seen her featured on GMTV, This Morning and the group's major event OJAM that was held in London and made £1million for Cancer Research UK.
This event was not Lauren's last either, the day after she and her mum Tracy and friend Sarah Davies, were in Scolton Manor for the Race For Life.
This year it was very hard going in the sunshine, but as usual it did not put off all the contestants that took part reaching their goal.
Lauren's future fundraising events will take her far and wide and in her own little way try to put a foot on cancer.
