THE exhibition of the works of Graham Sutherland currently on show at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery is coming to an end on October 2.
Gathered from the collections of the National Museums and Galleries of Wales, Pallant House Gallery, Chichester and private collections, these are the only Sutherland pictures on display in Pembrokeshire since the closure of the gallery at Picton Castle in 1995.
The exhibition, which traces his development as an artist and reveals his inspiration from the surrounding landscapes, his invention and use of colour, features some of his most well-known works, including Crucifixion (1947), Estuary With Birds (1971-2), Road At Porthclais With Setting Sun (1975) and Saint Ishmaels (1974-5), as well as a number of etchings which have not been seen on public display before. The museum is open daily, from 10 am to 5 pm, with last admissions at 4.30 pm.
