SOON, on March 15 in fact, the Arts Club welcomes once again Alison Neil. A professional artiste who will entertain to a Shakespearian theme. her title is 'The Shakespeare Ladies Club', which does not give too much away.

And who is Alison Neil some may ask, for they are entitled to know. Well she is a combination of all things good on the stage, having the poise and style of Joanna Lumley. The humour of Joyce Grenfell. A dramatic personality who will put the pulse into overdrive with her Desdemonas, Madame Butterflies and Toscas. She can haunt, too, as in Blythe Spirit, or tread the stage so softly when cast as Snow White or Titania. She is so adaptable as the play demands, akin 1 suppose to Sir Alec Guinness in the male form.

In other words, she is a goddess of the dais and this time will be performing solo; an intellectual version of Shirley Valentine one must surmise.

In this preview, one must not kill the story at birth. Expectation is the harbinger of true pleasure; but there will be quality. Readers please let your imagination rip. Will we see Lady McBeth dripping in gore? Juliette cooing her Romeo. Will Puck put a girdle round the earth in Olympic time?

The cat is not let out of the bag. Come and witness it all for yourselves.

The event is being held on Friday, March 15, in Church House, Upper Frog Street, Tenby, where there is, of course, a formal curtained stage. The performance starts at the earlier time of 7.30 pm.

Admission is £5 for members and £6 for non-members. Official financial support is behind this event, otherwise one dreads to guess the economic price. A hundred pounds for a seat in the circle?

This will be a high day for Tenby. Unmissable entertainment.
