THIS month, Kill for a Seat Comedy has two very special guests. Two very hot comedians - JJ Whitehead and Ben Hurley - are in the middle of a major UK tour, and they're coming to Narberth!
Jason John Whitehead, Kill for a Seat's headliner for June, is a laid-back Canadian who has made Britain the base for his comedy career. He may project the insouciant demeanour of an unfocussed wastrel, but that's just camouflage, allowing him to spin some very funny yarns without drawing attention to how it's done.
In fact, he's a brilliant raconteur, leading the audience along a gentle but slippery slope through a series of extremely funny set-pieces, all based around personal experiences that somehow feel universal.
He's had three hit shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and in 2000, he was the winner of BBC New Comedy Award. If you like your comedy to have a little intelligence, then don't miss this fantastic performer.
In fact, this will be an evening of imported comedians. Also on the bill is New Zealander Ben Hurley. Having swept the awards shelf clean in his home country, he's come over here to repeat the trick. He's a regular support act for Stewart Lee and Andy Parsons, and an all-round quality act.
The compere for the night is Silky, a permanent favourite at Kill for a Seat Comedy and a very funny man.
Tickets are £9/£7 Span Arts members and concessions, and are available on 869323 or http://www.span-arts.org.uk">www.span-arts.org.uk. Doors open at 7.30 pm and the event will start at 8. Advance booking is strongly recommended.
