Residents of Kilgetty's St. Mary's Place will be tripping the light-fantastic tomorrow (Saturday) when they switch on their Christmas lights.
For many years, the residents, led by Audrey and Peter Thomas, whose festively-decorated house topped a HTV poll last year for the best in Wales, have not only been decking the halls, but also the walls, windows and roofs of their properties to create a spectacular winter wonderland exhibition featuring thousands of coloured fairy lights and motifs,
And this year promises to be no exception.
Many of the residents have purchased extra lights to help bring some seasonal cheer to the hundreds of visitors that pass by to see the after-dark show, which is also raising funds for the Daniel Burrows Trust Fund, the Special Needs Assessment Playgroup at Withybush Hospital and the South Pembrokeshire Fund for Sick Children.
And it will be 12-year-old Daniel, of Tenby, who is battling his second bout of cancer, and for whom the residents hope to buy a £2,500 specially adapted wheelchair, who will have the honour of switching on the lights at 6 pm.
In addition, Father Christmas and his helpers will also be flying in by sleigh to enjoy the celebrations and will be meeting children and distributing sweets donated by Powells Cottage Holidays, of Saundersfoot, from 5 pm.
Another attraction at the ceremony will be a vintage steam engine from Richard Scourfield, of Bartlett Engineering, Carew, which will light up opening night with a hoot, while bringing a touch of magic to proceedings will be the huge model of Harry Potter's friendly giant, Hagrid, which Audrey and Peter have purchased from the Llangwm Scarecrow Festival.
Also new this year is a Santa's Postbox where children can post their letters, and thanks to K. P. Thomas and Son, receive a reply in the post. So please children, remember to put your full address on the letter.
"Everywhere looks great; a lot of our neighbours have doubled their lights this year, so we are looking forward to a brilliant display," said Audrey.
