Kilgetty and District Amateur Gardening Club

As members were unable to go on their usual Bank Holiday Monday trip this year, they decided to try a new idea of a seedling swap.

Advice was given at the April meeting, for those who weren't used to growing from seed, as to how to sow the seed and transplant the seedlings into small pots. The result was very satisfactory, with everyone bringing a varied selection of seedlings to swap and all going home with plants to grow on.

Some of the remaining pots were used in the raffle and the larger plants and trays were auctioned at the end.

Then followed a wildflower quiz and arrangements for the trip to Upton Castle.

The next meeting will be at the RAOB Club, Station Road, when the speaker will be Mr. John Hayes talking about the land belonging to Texaco. Members were asked to bring just a few bedding plants for the tubs outside the club, which they hope to plant from 6.30 pm.
