Thankfully, after all the wet weather, judging day of Kilgetty in Bloom gardens turned out to be dry and sunny.
The judges for this year, Ann Fowler, Eddie Pearce and Bob Pidgeon had a difficult task ahead of them with 19 individual gardens, plus four group entries, and two trade premises, totalling 62 classes entered.
They began with the Kilgetty end of the village working on to Begelly before stopping for a welcome lunch at the Cottage Café, followed by walking round the entries from Shillingford Park.
It was disappointing not to have the colourful school entries this year and to only receive two trade entries, plus the weather had taken its toll on the theme gardens, although those who did enter are to be congratulated on their efforts.
An afternoon strawberry tea was held on Friday for all entrants and the trophies were presented by the new chairman of the community association, Carl Spiers.

Best front garden (Mr. Monk Silver Challenge) - Mr. M. Hotston, Oakfield Drive.
