Santa scoops the prizes
This month's meeting was at Milford Haven Cricket Club, attended by 15 regulars and two newcomers. A warm welcome was given to Bob 'The Builder' Chell and Tony 'Macky' Macnamara. The course was in very good condition and the rains held off until late in the day. Tevor 'Santa' Lewis returned to form, taking first prize with 40 pts - that should be four off his handicap for next month. In second place was Adrian 'Lightning' Alman with 36 pts, closely followed by last month's winner, Gary 'Speed-date' Hopkins on 35 pts. Not content with third place, Gary also had the longest drive and scored a two, not on a par three, but on the par four 11th. Well done Gary, it could be the first eagle for the society. The other Hopkins, Wyn 'Lob-wedge' flipped his wedge to get nearest the pin on the sixth. Not for the first time, the OAP prize was taken by Barry 'Chippy' Wood with 33 pts. Once again the over 20 handicap winner was Steve 'Oars' Jones. The wooden spoon went to Tony 'Macky' Macnamara on his debut. With Santa, Speed-date and Oars in the same team (plus 'Lob-wedge'), it is hardly surprising that they won the team prize. Other players with a 'two' were, Mark 'Woody' Wood, John 'Scribe' James and Wyn 'Lob-wedge' Hopkins. Many thanks to The Angel in Narberth for sponsoring this contest.
