Pembrokeshire's older residents have been urged to 'Keep Well, Keep Warm and Keep Safe' this winter. A series of travelling roadshows advising pensioners on ways of staying well have taken place across the county. "Older people were able to get information on home heating, insulation, energy efficiency, and welfare benefits," said Clr. David Wildman, Pembrokeshire County Council cabinet member for the elderly and infirm. "There was also advice from Dyfed-Powys Police on how to stay safe in the home, and from Mid and West Wales Fire Brigade on fire safety." Visitors were encouraged to keep well by having a flu jab, eating a well-balanced diet, and taking some exercise. They were also able to get their electric blanket tested and, if it failed, were offered a free replacement. Older residents could also book an appointment for blanket testing by calling Age Concern Pembrokeshire.
